Katherine Smith Dedrick, JD MBA

Arbitrator & Expert Witness

Ms. Smith Dedrick is an arbitrator for commercial arbitrations administered by the American Arbitration Association (AAA), and a non-public arbitrator for arbitrations administered by the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA). She is also a Fellow of the Certified Institute of Arbitrators, which certifies and qualifies international arbitrators. She can also serve as an arbitrator via private arrangement between herself and the parties.

Because Ms. Smith Dedrick has worked in both the business and legal worlds, she understands the importance of timely resolving matters. Arbitration is an alternative dispute resolution mechanism which, if triggered, can avoid litigation. Arbitration may be an option if the agreement between the parties contains arbitration language.

Ms. Smith Dedrick serves as Vice-Chair of the American Bar Association’s Tort Trial and Insurance Practice Section (TIPS) Dispute Resolution Committee.
